The Wrekin Vineyard - Olive Grove Chardonnay - 0.75L - 2021

True to the style of a petit chablis, uncluttered. Elegant complexity where nothing dominates. A bright, uncluttered chardonnay with a zing. Citrus focused with hints of tea leaf. The palate is vibrant where crisp acidity underlies the softer mouthfeel and finishes on a clean chablis-like finish. Winemaking The 2022 Olive Grove Chardonnay is sourced from a single clone 95 from two blocks. The vines lie on windswept loess soil on our lower slopes, next to our olive grove. Vine age approx 14 years. From the cooperage Chassin, the small amount of new oak subtly lingers in this lovely, textural wine. Soil Elevated blocks on clay loam with north to north-west aspects. Viticulture Organic certified, farmed using biodynamic practice. Clone 95. Harvest Hand-picked from 15th March - 29th March. An average of 6.78 tons per hectare yield. Vinification 100% wild fermentation. No additives other than sulphites. Maturation 50% stainless, with remainder in french oak. 10% new oak.
